Highlight — 2006 to today
In February 2006 I founded dreizehnelf as a one-person web consultancy. For its 20th anniversary I'm shifting its main focus from web to media and AI, and building out the studios and publishing that sit around it.
Now — 2026
Practical AI for small and mid-sized teams.
Publishing and marketing under the dreizehnelf name: articles, video and maybe even local zines.
2006 — 2025
Independent work: microsites localized for 12 countries, Bluetooth hardware apps and firmware, and complete web-to-mobile stacks.
For the agency FKD Visuals I built a series of campaign microsites for Sto, the maker of insulation systems, paints and facades: front-end development, localization into up to ten languages and variants, and responsive layouts. I also created the complete i18n/l10n infrastructure used to facilitate the translation workflow with external partners.

For Habitron, a maker of home automation systems, I worked across the stack: Linux server administration, software development in Python and microcontroller firmware development in C/C++. Also a hybrid web app in HTML5 and JavaScript, which controls lights and blinds, monitors windows and doors and regulates heating over home Wi-Fi or the internet. I also designed and maintained their whole software development process including version control, documentation, analytics, CI-pipeline and release management of the SmartServer and SmartWeb products.

For Herth+Buss, a family-run supplier of vehicle parts and electrics, le electronic and I were tasked to create a prototype to replace a hardware control surface they used to connect to one of their trailer testers. The idea was to use a smartphone with Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity and a custom app instead. I built a python communication/simulation tool to properly test and verify the communication side as well as a matching mobile app for iOS and Android via Cordova.
Alongside and in between
dreizehnelf has been there since 2006, but not always at full speed. Four chapters ran next to it or took over for a while.
2007 — 2012
Shareholder and CTO of a start-up for QR-code mobile content and payments. I went full-time on it at first; when funds ran thin, I revived dreizehnelf as a part-time practice next to it.
2007 — 2008
Game design for David Perry. Splitting my attention between games and consulting wore me out, and since there was no budget yet to bring me on full-time, I chose dreizehnelf.
2016 — 2017
Co-founder and CTO of a sports search engine. After the first version was out I sold the code rights and went back to my consultancy.
2018 — 2025
Seven years as head of backend and later CTO of a VR collaboration platform. dreizehnelf took a back seat while I was there.
